Family Fun

With so much to do, the Island of Bermuda appeals to the innate curiosity and sense of wonder that all children share.

Most hotels offer their own beach or pool, with many also providing special children’s clubs and babysitting facilities, all designed to ensure that your holiday is the perfect break for all members of the family!

It’s child’s play:

  • Offering year-round fun for adults and children over 5 years alike, Dolphin Quest allows you to finally live the dream and interact with these marvellous mammals in their own habitat. The interactive programmes, led by trained animal behaviourists, ensure an enjoyable yet educational experience for all, and a smile that will last as long as the memories…
  • The Royal Naval Dockyard on the western end of the Island is home to the Maritime Museum – located in a vast 19th Century fortress and exhibiting artefacts from the nation’s nautical heritage – along with some of the best preserved historic forts, making it more than just a mariner’s must!
  • The Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute (BUEI) is a terrific place for families to learn more about the wonders of the ocean, the highlight being a simulated capsule dive to 12,000 feet below the ocean’s surface
  • Step back in time as you explore the well preserved 19th Century fortress of the Royal Naval Dockyard .
  • Need to use up their excess energy? Well, with so many activities available throughout the Island – from mini-golf and tennis (over 100 courts – what else would you expect from the nation responsible for introducing the game to the US?) to bowling and swimming – they’ll certainly sleep well!
  • Have a race up to the top of Gibbs Hill Lighthouse , the oldest cast iron lighthouse in the world, where you’ll be rewarded by spectacular views across the Island while you catch your breath.
  • If you’re a cricket family, then don’t miss the highlight of Bermuda’s favourite summer spectator sport – the annual Cup Match Cricket Festival. Played every July / August since 1902, this Island-wide two-day public holiday is more than just a game – it’s a way of life!
  • Bermuda’s most famous beaches lie along the Island’s southern edge, with Turtle Bay, Horseshoe Bay , Clearwater Beach and John Smith’s Bay ideally suited to families. Perfect for a leisurely day out, these four beaches even boast lifeguards from May to October every day from 10am – 6pm.
